Try to pay your bills on time and in full by the due date

Don’t go over your credit card’s credit limit (the higher your balance, the more impact on your credit rating)
Reduce the number of credit applications you make
Check your credit history for errors
If you don’t have a credit history at all (ie you have never owed money and paid it back) you will have a low score. You can build it by using a credit card, for instance.
Credit counselling services, debt consolidation, or other services may help, but they are no substitute for sound credit practices.
